质化研究方法有四本好书，分别是：《质化研究导论》（An introduction to qualitative research，London：Sage，1998），作者Uwe Flike；《心理学中的质化分析》（Doing qualitative analysis inpsychology，Hove：Psychology Press，1997），作者Nicky Hayes；Mary Kopala与Lisa A.Suzuki合著的《心理学中质化方法的使用》（Using qualitative methods in psychology，Thousand Oaks，CA：Sage，1998）；以及Steven J.Taylor与Robert Brogdan合著的《质化研究方法导论：手册与资源》（Introduction to qualitative research methods：A guidebook andresource，New York：Wiley，1998）。

通过个案研究，弗洛伊德首次提出妄想症理论。可以在他的《论文集》（Collected papers，London：Hogarth，1948）第Ⅲ卷（pp.387-470）中找到。经授权由A.Strachey与J.Strachey翻译。检验弗洛伊德妄想症理论的实验设计由P.G.Datson提出，发表在题为《妄想型精神分裂症对同性恋含义词的知觉》（Perception of homosexual words in paranoid schizophrenia，In Perceptual and Motor Skills，6，45-55，1956）的文章中。

调查研究的随机化反应技术由Stanley L.Warner提出，发表在文章《随机化反应：消除回避反应偏差的调查技术》（Randomized response：A survey technique for eliminating evasive answer bias，In Journal of the American Statistical Association，60，63-69，1965）中。

I.Knight著书《英国成人的身高与体重》（The height and weights of adults in Great Britain，London：Her Majesty's Stationery Office，1984），报道了对一万名英国男性与女性的身高与体重的关系调查。该项调查具有充分代表性。S.Greer与T.Morris在一篇题为《乳癌发展期妇女的心理特征：对照研究》（Psychological attributes of women who develop breast cancer：A controlled study，In Journal of Psychosomatic research，19，147-153，1975）的论文中，发表了对妇女乳癌患者人格特征的调查研究。快速眼动回弹效应最早由William Dement提出，发表在《科学》（Science，131，1705—1707，1960）杂志上，文章题为《梦被剥夺的影响》（The effect of dream deprivation）。随机化实验的逻辑最早由Ronald A.Fisher提出，他的《实验设计》（The design of experiments，8th ed.London：Oliver & Boyd，1966）是一本经典的书。

在Donald T.Campbell与Julian C.Stanley所著《研究的实验与准实验设计》（Experimental and quasi-experimental design for research，Chicago：Rand McNally，1966）和Thomas D.Cook 与Donald T.Cambell所著《准实验研究：现场环境的设计与分析》（Quasi-experimentation：Design and analysis issues for field settings，Chicago：Rand McNally，1979）两本书中，可以看到广为使用的研究方法的更多详细讨论。

有许多很好的统计学教科书，包括Robert R.Pagano的《从行为科学理解统计学》（Understanding statistics in the behavioral sciences，5th ed.，Pacific Grove，CA：Books/Cole，1998）；David C.Howell的《行为科学的统计学基础》（Fundamental statistics for the behavioral science，4th ed.，Pacific Grove，CA：Duxbury，1998）。最后，在由我编辑的书中可以找到很多关于研究方法与统计的介绍性文章。书名为《心理学研究方法与统计》（Psychological research methods and statistics，London and New York：Longman，1995）
