维和是重大非战争军事行动（Military Operation Other Than War，MOOTW），牺牲在所难免。表达死亡的说法有很多，最直白的是die，中性的说法是lose one’s life，比较委婉的常见说法是pass away或者pass on，此外还有depart，表达非正常死亡时多用perish。我们慰问遇难人员时，需要表达自己的哀痛之情。英语中常用来表示慰问和关心的句子有：
