Introduction

In second language learning，some people can be native-like while some cannot even pass the exams at school.There seems to be a great difference between successful foreign language learners and unsuccessful learners.Several individual differences（intelligence，aptitude，learning styles，personality，motivation and attitudes，identity and ethnic group affiliation，learner beliefs and age of acquisition）in second language learning may account for this issue.“How will individual differences affect the result of foreign language learning”and“what are the elements of successful foreign language learners”are two key questions will be presented in this report.
