Xilankap tells a sad story about a Tujia ethnic girl.In ancient times,there was a skilled Tujia ethnic girl named Xilan,who was good at weaving flower on quilt cover.She had knitted all the flowers in the world,except ginkgo flower.Ginkgo blossoms in the midnight.In order to carefully observe the ginkgo flower in its blossoming,she kept waiting for it under the ginkgo tree out of the door.The family’s sister-in-law did not understand her,thinking that she was waiting for a young man,and told her father.Her father thought his daughter did no good and beat her to death with a stick behind her.To commemorate the wronged death of the girl,the elders asked their daughters to learn knitting from the age of 12 years old.(https://www.daowen.com)
