Sister Liu’s story (Liu San Jie in Chinese) is very popular among Zhuang ethnic group.Sister Liu,the third girl of Liu,was very poor.She and her brother earned a living by gathering firewood and farming.People loved her because she was smart,beautiful,and capable of folk singing.Mo Huairen,a rich landowner wanted to marry her as a wife,but Sister Liu refused him.He invited three scholars good at singing to have a contest with Sister Liu by boating.Three scholars were defeated although they tried their best.Angered by her,Mo Huairen banned folk singing,but he couldn’t stop people singing.Mo Huairen tried his best to plot against Sister Liu.She dressed as a beggar woman to tell Mo Huairen that Sister Liu was singing in a cave,and would like to lead him to see.When Mo Huairen walked into the mouth of the cave,Sister Liu knocked on the edge of the cave with her walking stick.Immediately,the door closed and Mo Huairen was clamped to death.Later,Sister Liu met her sweetheart Aniu,and they went to different places to sing folk songs and brought happiness to people.Finally they transformed into a pair of orioles.(https://www.daowen.com)
