The love story of Zhulang and Niangmei is a popular legend among Dong ethnic group.Niangmei was a girl,hard-working and intelligent,beautiful as fairy.She fell in love with Zhulang,a clever and handsome orphan.

On the 18th day of the 4th lunar month,three days before the wedding,Niangmei broke the window and jumped out of the room while her mother was asleep.In order to get together,they decided to go out.Experiencing hardships,they arrived at Guandongzhai village.The villagers here were very sympathetic to them but Yinyi,the land owner wanted to make Niangmei as his concubine.He pretended to took them in with enthusiasm,and became sworn brothers with Zhulang.Then,he plotted to kill Zhulang,forcing Niangmei to be his concubine.Niangmei,full of grief and indignation,committed suicide.
