Abstract
Twentieth Century Great Dramatic Theorist, Reformer, Educator, Director, Acting Artist Stanislavsky’s life is devoted to the way directors work on performance and actors to create roles. After continuous exploration and practice, and finally founded the name of the “Stanislavsky System”.The system is not only a summary of the practice of the predecessors stage, but also the cornerstone of the practice of future generations. It contains a series of creative principles and system creation methods centered on “experience art”.Since its birth, “system” produced a broad and profound impact to the world drama and film director of the film.
This paper is a study of the methodology of the “Physical action methods” in the Stanislavsky system.“Physical action methods” is Stanislavsky’s important discovery in his later years.It is an organic part of the “system” and an important symbol of the “system”.“Physical action methods” is based on the creation of psychological realism, through the gradual control of the role of the logic of the role, and gradually organize the role of the stage on the body - psychological life, and gradually reflect the role of thinking methods-from simple to complex, from conscious to subconscious, from the self to the image of the creative process.
This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter takes the overall research of Stanislavsky’s system as the breakthrough point, through the elaboration of the formation process, the development stage, the aesthetic characteristics and the pursuit of the goal, method and the relationship between the development of the system. The second chapter focuses on the theory and practice of the “Physical action methods”—the formulation and development of the theory of stage action, and the scientific basis of the method of physical action.The third chapter discusses the development process of the method of physical action, the nature of the method, the characteristics of the method and the controversy. The fourth chapter discusses the significance of the method to the actor’s creation contradiction, the director’s artistic creation and the performing arts.The fifth chapter explores the commonness and characteristics of the development of today’s directorial art and the essence and trend of the development of performing arts through the contrast between physical action method and different genre creation methods. “Physical action methods” is the continuous development and improvement, master the principle and core of the method, to guide our practice and teaching work, has important value and significance.
