亚洲旅游区是世界旅游资源最丰富的旅游区之一。自然、人文旅游资源丰富多彩，且具有古老性、独特性和稀有性，对旅游者有着很强的吸引力。
东亚旅游区海岸线曲折漫长，岛屿众多，有丰富的海滨和海岛旅游资源。东亚旅游区是世界上两大高山带和火山带汇合处，地形十分复杂，观光、登山、探险名山和火山旅游景观众多。东亚旅游区位于世界最大的大洲——亚洲和世界最大的大洋——太平洋的交接处，海陆热力差异大，属典型的季风气候，但热量带的纬度跨度大，气候复杂，生物旅游资源多样。东亚旅游区历史悠久，文化灿烂，名胜古迹众多，人文旅游资源以文物古迹、民俗风情和各种现代化建筑旅游景观为主。
东南亚旅游区特殊的地形结构造就了众多的寻幽猎奇、登山探险和休闲娱乐旅游景观。东南亚旅游区岛屿和半岛众多，形成了世界著名的海滨度假胜地和避寒胜地。东南亚属热带季风气候和热带雨林气候，热带生物旅游资源特别丰富。东南亚旅游区名胜古迹众多，佛教建筑如佛教寺庙、佛塔成为本区独具特色的人文景观。东南亚旅游区优越的区位条件为国际旅游业的发展提供了有利条件。
南亚旅游区地形多样，有名山大川。风景优美的海滩，印度半岛南部、斯里兰卡岛和马尔代夫群岛，为理想的度假和潜水运动场所。南亚旅游区气候多属热带季风气候，有丰富的热带季风雨林景观和动植物旅游资源。南亚旅游区有8000多年的历史和光辉灿烂的文化，是印度教和佛教的发源地，宗教建筑和名胜古迹众多。
