Kyoto（京都）

Kyoto is a city located in the central part of the island of Honshu，Japan.It has a population close to 1.5 million.Kyoto is the former Imperial capital of Japan for more than one thousand years.Kyoto contains roughly 2000 temples and shrines.About 20％of Japan's National Treasures and 14％of Important Cultural Properties exist in the city.The UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto（Kyoto，Uji and Otsu Cities）includes 17 locations in Kyoto，Uji in Kyoto Prefecture，and Otsu in Shiga Prefecture.

Kinkaku-ji（金閣寺，“Temple of the Golden Pavilion”），officially named Rokuon-ji（鹿苑寺，“Deer Garden Temple”），is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto.It is one of the most popular buildings in Japan，attracting a large number of visitors annually.It is designated as a National Special Historic Site and a National Special Landscape，and it is one of 17 locations comprising the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto which listed as World Heritage Site.

Kiyomizu-dera（清水寺），officially known as Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera（音羽山清水寺）is an independent Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto.The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto（Kyoto，Uji and Otsu Cities）which listed as UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Kyoto Imperial Palace（京都御所，Kyoto-gosho）is the former ruling palace of the Emperor of Japan.The emperors have resided at the Tokyo Imperial Palace since 1869（Meiji Restoration）；the preservation of the Kyoto Imperial Palace was ordered in 1877.Today the grounds are open to the public，and the Imperial Household Agency hosts public tours of the buildings several times a day.(https://www.daowen.com)
