韩国总人口约5200万（2021年），人口密度约为每平方千米527.3人，是世界人口密度最大的国家之一。韩国属于单一民族国家，绝大多数人口为朝鲜民族，占全国总人口的96.25％，只有少数华裔和日裔等。官方语言为朝鲜语（或称韩语）。主要宗教为基督新教、佛教和天主教。
