Mykonos，a Greek island，is one of the top tourist destinations in Europe.It belongs to the Cyclades group and it is located between Tinos，Syros，Paros and Naxos.With a surface area of 86 km2and a population of approximately 6200（2002）inhabitants，it is considered one of the smallest islands of the group.Mykonos，except for being the most famous island of Greece，is also the most expensive one.It is the favorite destination of Greeks from all over the country，of tourists from all around the world and of celebrities.The island gets overcrowded during peak season，and it is an ideal destination for those who enjoy crowds，fun and night-long entertainment.The island is very beautiful with a wonderful mountainous landscape，clear waters，long sandy organized beaches，churches，chapels and windmills.

The island of Paros is the fourth largest of the Cyclades cluster.Its area is 185 km2and the population is about 9000 people.The island consists mainly of large valleys，while mountains occupy its central part.Paros is one of the most modern tourist resorts of the Aegean.Due to its size，the island meets any visitor's needs，whether looking for relaxation or adventurous holidays.It is a typical Cycladic island with traditional villages full of whitewashed houses，narrow paved streets，flowered balconies，churches and many beautiful beaches.Parikia is the capital，the main port and the biggest settlement of the island of Paros with 3000 inhabitants.Despite the quick development over the last decades，Parikia kept its traditional beauty.Built amphitheatrically around the port with whitewashed and flat roofed houses，wooden colored doors and windows，separated by narrow white alleys forming a labyrinth，it is the cultura land commercial center of Paros.
Historically，Paros was known for its fine white marble，which gave rise to the term“Parian”to describe marble or china of similar qualities.Today，abandoned marble quarries and mines can be found on the island，but Paros is primarily known as a popular tourist spot.
