1.4.4 Documentation and Presentation制单和交单
As exporter, you need to make a set of documents as per the contract and in line with the industry format. This is known as documentation. The documents may include commercial documents, such as the invoice, financial documents such as the letter of credit and draft, shipping documents such as the bill of lading and the packing list, insurance documents such as the insurance policy, etc. An inspection certificate may also be required by the importer, the exporting country or the importing country. These documents are important to both you and the importer—you need them for collecting the payment while the importer needs them for taking delivery. They are also needed by other parties involved in the transaction, such as certain government authorities, banks, the shipping company, the insurance company, etc.
