6.5.3 Container Freight Rates集装箱费率
To calculate the basic freight for container shipping on a liner service, the first step often involves a decision between two options—full container load or less than container load,as freight rates charged vary between the two options.A full container load applies to a shipment that can fill up one or more containers, while a less than container load cannot fill up an entire container but has to share one with other consignors’ cargoes. For a full container load,a liner normally applies a flat rate regardless of the commodity being carried,as long as the cargo is permitted and not dangerous. For a less than container load, the liner also refers to the tariff for determining the freight rate,as what is discussed before.
Let’ take a 20-foot container as an example and see how this is done(see Table 6-3).
Table 6-3 Procedures for Calculating Basic Freight for Container Shipping
Nowadays, logistic companies often publish their container freight rates online. You may calculate on your own or turn to a freight forwarder for help. The number of packages a container can hold is limited by both its payload and cubic capacity. As long as the shipment is not beyond both limits,a flat freight rate is charged for a route.Try this site for a quotation of sea freight rate for FCL or LCL:https://www.ufsoo.com/
