三、普洱茶在美洲
在北美洲茶市场,普洱茶对加拿大出口量较为稳定,对美国出口量逐渐增加。美国是咖啡王国,但喝茶的人数也不少,每年茶叶进口量超过90000吨。但普洱茶在美国的流行指数低于红茶4到6倍,低于绿茶25倍。美国人喝茶方式以袋装茶或冰茶为主,大部分喝茶的人从未见到原茶叶。因此袋装普洱茶、速溶普洱茶、普洱茶膏等产品很受美国消费者欢迎。普洱茶从美国华人社区传播到当地,目前国内知名的普洱茶企业(如中茶、大益、下关)都已成为美国普洱茶消费者熟知的牌子。美国人对普洱茶的兴趣首先源于普洱茶的功效,他们认为与咖啡和可乐不同,这种“慢”饮料更神秘而健康。另一个吸引美国人的地方在于普洱茶的外观,普洱茶通常被压制成饼,拿着撬茶刀把一些茶叶打碎或切掉,再进行冲泡,对美国人来说简直是一种神秘的仪式,格外有吸引力。美国人和欧洲人一样从葡萄酒的角度理解普洱茶,随着储存年限的不断增长,普洱茶品质也不断转化,价值也随之增加。

Since Pu’er tea was listed as“tribute tea”in the Qing Dynasty and presented as a national gift to diplomatic envoys of various countries in China, it became a“national gift”for foreign leaders again after a lapse of nearly 300 years.On January 10, 2008, the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Foreign Affairs Office of Yunnan Province and the Government and Foreign Affairs Office of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, designated Tongqinghao Pu’er Tea Co., Ltd.to make a set of“Chinese Pu’er tea gift”which was then presented to the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown by the Prime Minister Wen Jiabao as a“Chinese tea gift”.
