Ask Qinggao for Pu’er Tea
Qiu Fengjia of the Qing Dynasty
In the ancient Buddhism country in South Yunnan, plants grow in a great environment.
Pu’er tea trees among these plants are lovely.
People have annoyances about powers, sickness, etc.in this earthly world.
You are expected to give me some tea cakes, so I can enjoy some Pu’er tea.
After drinking tea, maybe I cannot be a great poet, but Idefinitely will get rid of troubles.
Otherwise I could also have a great moment and a peaceful mind.
The tea mountains are very high, and we could talk about historic events over a cup of tea.
[Note]The theme of this poem is that the author asked Qinggao for Pu’er tea.Because the author loved Pu’er tea very much, he wrote a poem to his friend Kuang Shiren (Style name Qinggao)and begged him to give a few cakes of“Pu’er tea”.As long as he could drink this Pu’er tea, even if he can’t become a great poet, he can“definitely get rid of troubles”, and of course he can“talk about historic events over a cup of tea”.It can be seen that at that time, Pu’er tea, because of its unique charm, had a relatively common popularity and influence amongofficials and scholars.
