台本说明的翻译
关于台本说明或舞台指示的翻译，有一些约定俗成的技巧或者规律，可供学习者参考，此类翻译通常以一般现在时为主，分为以下三种方式：
第一，交代场景的，多用名词、名词词组、分词词组等；如强调动作，也可以用一般现在时。比如，［Some ballerinas in hotel breakfast room.］［St.Mattew's Church.Myra and Roy at door.］［Night.Ballroom.Roy and Myra dancing.］等。
第二，台词中的舞台提示，可用现在分词，或省略主语的一般现在时。一种是人物使用台词时伴随的状态，或列在台词之前的舞台指示，多用现在分词。且看以下几个例子。
例2：
Lydia：（shouting form outside）Kitty，are you coming？
Kitty：（shouting back）Yes，all right.Wait a second.
例3：
Zazu：｛interrupting｝Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with your food？
Jack：｛lowering his voice｝You were saying something about the park...
Zazu：｛interrupting｝Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with your food？
还有一种情况是篇幅较长的舞台指示，或列在演员说完台词之后的舞台指示，多用省略主语的一般现在时。比如，Myra：（happily but doesn't know what to say）Oh，Roy！Tom：Please be seated.I've some business to attend to.［Leads Jack to a seat.］Wang：Waiter，a fresh cup of tea here！［Picks up the shards of the smashed teacup.］
第三，两大段台词之间的动作，多用完整的（即有主语的）一般现在时。比如：

［Roy comes forward down corridor to Myra's door，knocks on it.］
Roy:Myra！Myra！It's Roy！
例5：
Poirot:Precisely...Simon Doyle.
Simon reacts.
Simon:What？
例6：
｛The mouse runs away from Scar.｝
Scar:Oh now look，Zazu.You've made me lose my lunch.
