色诺芬廿九

修身曾说必齐家,纵是士农休漫夸。

善亦二歧谁解得?视群如己又先差。

色诺芬《家政》言齐家之术,先以雠论启人之疑,终以德为之主。论之雠,善有二歧也。所取异,必不相合。于己善,于群殊未必善,此修身与治人亦不必合。修身齐家之语,虽行之士农,仍近夸诞,况行之工商乎?其使苏格拉底言无产故无所告,良有以也。

【Abstract】Lt is no accident that people who discuss philosophy seldom mention Xenophon.Socrates has themost profound comprehension of the transcendence of morality,and Plato grasps the essence of Socrates'comprehension,but his ideas on the relation between the Nature's way and human affairs are rather problematic.Socrates has nowritings,nor can we distinguish between his and Plato's doctrine.Xenophon can not identify subtlety and roughness of thought,and makes his point of views in amuddled way,so his thought is not enough tomerita discussion.Nevertheless,if some discerningmen ruminate on Xenophon'swords and deliberate about his intentions,then compare with and reference to Plato's theory,express fuzzy views and correcterroneous views further,they will clearly distinguish Socrates'doctrine.Therefore,we can not abolish Xenophon's theory.Subtle thoughts are really refined,but there are no profound meanings hidden in these thoughts; in fact,good readers refine something subtle exactly,so subtle thoughts have no substance of esotericism.Lwrote these words on the November 26st of 2018,in Wozhanshi Room.
