1.1.2.2 Reticular fibers

Reticular fibers(diameter:0.2-1.0μm)are not independent fiber components, but immature and slender immature collagen fibers.HE staining is difficult to show reticular fibers. However, due to the silver-philic nature, they can be blacked with silver nitrate solution, which are therefore called silver-philic fibers as well.In the embryonic period, reticular fibers appear the earliest.Reticular fibers are mainly distributed in the nipple layer and skin appendages, and surrounding of blood vessels. In wound healing, fibroblast hyperplasia or new collagen formation lesions, reticular fibers tend to massive hyperplasia.(https://www.daowen.com)
