9.3.2 Skin graft materials
For patients who are unable to repair the skin injury without the skin tissue donor area,or are unwilling to accept the skin tissue donor area injury, allogeneic tissue or tissue substitutes should be used for repair.Allograft and xenografts are still the main methods to solve the problem of insufficient sources of autologous skin or no conditions for autologous skin transplantation. They can not only prevent the loss of electrolytes, proteins and other body components, but also reduce the contamination of wound pathogenic microorganisms, reduce the pain of the wound, improve the patient's compliance with other treatments, and also improve the survival rate of autologous skin transplantation. However, allogeneic and heterogeneous tissues often have problems such as immune rejection, absorption, deformation, and non-suitable bovine mechanical properties. Therefore, biomedical polymer materials made according to different needs have been playing an important role in clinical application as skin tissue graft materials.(https://www.daowen.com)
