Implementation and Evaluation of Faculty Development Program for Teaching and Learning:A Case Study of Shanghai Jiaotong University

Abstract:The professionalism,pertinence and effectiveness of teaching and learning development programs will directly affect faculty participation,personal development consciousness,and the effect of teaching and learning.Based on DCSF Model(demand,case,service,feedback),the Center for Teaching and Learning Development of Shanghai Jiaotong University designs and implements three representative programs,namely teaching workshops,teaching luncheons,and teaching and learning forums,to provide a new perspective for exploring the design,implementation and evaluation of teaching development projects for college teachers.The evaluation of the project effect shows that the DCSF model implementation of the project has different immediate and long-term values for teachers,but both have been highly recognized in providing new teaching methods and strategies;it can promote the“student-centered”teaching cognition and behavior;the impact on teachers'teaching cognition and behavior is not immediate,but a relatively slow process.
